Summary
Four animal friends cheer up a very cranky bear。 Nick Blands expressive， adorable illustrations complement delightful， rhyming， read-aloud text in this lesson about the importance of sharing with others。 Moose， Lion， Zebra， and Sheep take shelter in a cave on a cold and rainy day， only to realize that a bear is there。 The bear roars loudly and says that he is trying to sleep。 Not understanding why the bear is so cranky， the other animals come up with ways to cheer up the bear。 Moose finds antlers for him， Lion gives him a mane， and Zebra paints on stripes。 Is there anything the four well-meaning friends can do to help the bear sleep

This book is SO cute！ The story and artwork is captivating from the very beginning！ I really appreciate that it was the ‘boring old sheep’ that ends up saving the day - kind of teaching kids not to discount what everyone brings to the table。 I highly recommend this great read to babies and toddlers！

I love the story and the illustrations。 There are some good lessons for young children in this book: the importance of recognizing that different people might want different things， the importance of friendship。 The rhythm of the sing-songy voice and the bear growls will undoubtedly make children want to hear this book read to them over and over。。。 and over。 It would be a thrill to be able to draw this well and do the illustrations for one's own writing。 I'm not sure about the tag line which des I love the story and the illustrations。 There are some good lessons for young children in this book: the importance of recognizing that different people might want different things， the importance of friendship。 The rhythm of the sing-songy voice and the bear growls will undoubtedly make children want to hear this book read to them over and over。。。 and over。 It would be a thrill to be able to draw this well and do the illustrations for one's own writing。 I'm not sure about the tag line which describes this book as having a sleeping bear in the "jungle;" since bear habitat is usually described as forest with jungle being reserved more for hot equatorial locations。 That is not a negative comment on the book at all。 。。。more
